Wins
Coolest Projects USA 2026 AI Category Winner. A 13-year-old presenting a platform that should have existed for decades.
Who She Is
ZaLayaa Jahzara Wandrick is 13 years old. She is from Minnesota. She is the founder, creator, and sole inventor of FIND ME ASAP โ and she is the child this platform was built for.
She lives with more than 40 invisible medical conditions โ conditions that are not visible on her face or in her behavior at a glance, but that determine everything about how she must be handled in an emergency. Before FIND ME ASAP, none of this would have been communicated to the person who found her, the first responder who arrived, or the ER that treated her.
She is a national advocate and speaker. A youth AI innovator with a deep interest in biomedical engineering and computer science. A golfer. A chess player. A coder who builds what the world needs before the world knows it needs it.
Coolest Projects USA 2026
On April 11, 2026, FIND ME ASAP won the AI Category at Coolest Projects USA โ a national youth technology competition hosted at the Science Museum of Minnesota and organized by the Raspberry Pi Foundation. ZaLayaa presented her platform to a panel of judges, demonstrating how a 13-year-old Black girl with 40+ invisible conditions built the emergency response tool that should have existed for decades.
The win was featured by the Raspberry Pi Foundation on their official blog. FIND ME ASAP was recognized not just as a technology achievement, but as a platform that addresses a real gap in the systems meant to protect the most vulnerable children.
